Has the 360 controller spoiled you?

i must also be a freak lol as i dont like the 360 pad at all, im much more at home with the ps pad and can use it for hours with no problems.. my fingers dont slip off of the triggers either lol. meh

The standard in my books is the gamecube controller.
IMO, it remains the most perfect controller out.

However for FPS games, the N64 pad cant be beaten in my books. :p.

I think the only way to improve the 360 controller would be to implement a lightweight battery to take away a little bit of the weight from the controller.

Other than thats its perfect imo.

I loved the N64 pad it was different at the time and came in so many colours, I remember spending weeks wondering which colour to get for xmas, it was great because I was a kid and had small hands god knows what its like to use no with manly hands.

Z trigger was an innovation along with the stick

I think the main problem with the PS3 pad is the size of it, its tiny. The best pads I have used are the 360 controller and the N64 one, although in retrospect that controller had pretty poor build quality.

the n64 controllers were a great idea, but yes they were poorly built - they creeked, felt hollow, the analogue stick wearing out was a common issue (though not on my own pads) ect

i like the 360 pads but my hands hurt after a while ,ps3 pads are ok but i can play for longer periods .

going to check the new saitek pads for ps3 when they come out

Is this what you mean - the 2700?

I don't mind either controller, for comfort the 360, but for 'feel' the PS3; I find it a far better feeling tool for FPS games.

Best pad though? I like the N64 to be honest :D

Scort.

At last... I have been wondering when someone would bring out a controller where you can switch the left analogue stick with the d-pad :D

I like the sound of the presicion aiming - I might get one.

It's excellent apart from the d-pad being utter poop. I've always liked the masked off d-pad on the Sony controllers.

The shoulder buttons on the GameCube controller were funny - had about 3 miles of travel :o

Random PC controllers are gash. Probably have about a thousandth of the R&D spent on them.

I can report that the new green controller is.....
..
..the same as the previous version. :/
No wait, it's not quite the same, this one features a lovely squeak on the right thumstick, sigh.

The d-pad and shoulder buttons feel exactly the same to my other controllers - it may well have been 'improved', but it feels the same.

Any ideas on what I can do to cure the squeak? I've spayed some silicon spray on it, but that's made no difference. I've got the receipt, but chucked the pacakaging - think they'll take it back?

Not really; I went from playing on my housemate's 360 a lot to using my PS3 when I got it, and I adjusted fine. Sometimes the DS3 can feel a bit cramped, but generally it's alright. That's not to say that it couldn't be made more comfortable, but I don't dislike it. Then again, I'm used to it from having used the same design on the PS and PS2.

I think Sony have been too busy branding their controller as an Iconic controller for it's platform that they dont give a flying s*** about it's ergonomics and general suitability.

I mean as much as i loved my N64 controler it was awkward using the L button and D-Pad but Nintendo revived themselves with the Gamecube controler and learned by their mistakes. I seriously hope that the PS4 has a much better controller.
