Haswell Overclock Thread

That's if I can get my PC stable first :p
Seems to be breaking at stock, I've downclocked it and it's running fine, but don't want to do too much on the stock cooler.
Once I get time, I'll be pushing it though.

Yes, a few :)

At 4.4Ghz:

Battlefield 3 MP full 64 player map: 56% Load, 48°C
Supreme Commander 2 SP 4v4 Large Map: 20% Load, 40°C
PlanetSide 2 Busy Area: 30% Load, 43°C

Those three games are ludicrously smooth to play.

I'll update with more games as I get around to playing them, and perhaps later at different overclocks if I have the energy.

:D

Yep those temperatures are within what I am getting 4.4 ghz 1.193v.

edit: using Noctua NHU12S (push only) - Silverstone TJ08-E

Westyfield2 those days are long time gone....
Its not good for business...... I would be happy to pay extra 100f for delided 4670k that can do 4.8 ghz. But I dont see that happening :/

theres a PC repair shop near me, they might do delidding so when i get my 4770K I'll go and ask.

I'm hoping to get 4.8 < 100c using Prime with my very expensive watercooling.

Back in the old days OcUK did lots of modified CPUs, soldered mods etc. IIRC Spie (and Peter) started Overclockers/Mllenium as selling Modified (soldered) and pre-tested CPUS with guaranteed overclocks in the K7 Athlon era.

Yes, l remember them days OCUK, l bought my first real case -Tornado, K7, Abit mobo.

That's how l got into overclocking never looked back since.:D

Don't seem right, What water?

Thermochill PA 120.3, EK Supreme HF.
Push/Pull.
its that silicon lottery! it cant all be down to the tim though. that looks a poor chip!

Not entirely sure it's stable at stock to be honest.

It actually crashed idle at 1.4v at 4.6GHZ.

And I'm not pushing more volts into it, that was literally for 15 minutes.

Pump? anything else on the loop? air blocks? and what fans?

90c for a waterloop says something is wrong with your loop tbh, you shouldn't be seeing temps like that from a GPU, let alone a cpu.

There's a limit to what a custom loop will cool even after de-lidding to hit a stable 4.6ghz and above.

Would a small chiller[Waterchiller Hailea Ultra Titan 200/HC150=165Watt cooling capacity) say cooling a Reservoir of 5 litre's or so be the way to go. The custom loop using that rather than the chiller being in the loop, just a thought as l'm not really clued up on chiller's.
