So you running bios 0711? cause that is the latest version release on 11/7.
Looks like my first venture into Haswell is fairly successful.
OEM 4770K
4.6GHz at stock voltage.
5.0GHz boot into windows at 1.275v also runs SuperPi 1M fine
5.0GHz at 1.28v runs SuperPi 32M
Temps are not good as its on basic air at the moment, so I will not try serious stress testing yet, but looking good me thinks.
Yup, I am. This is one of the best air coolers, and seems to do fine at over 1.25v with Haswell. I prefer if over watercooling as it's quieter.
quieter than watercooling?? depends on the water cooling..
You've still got the sound of the pump, even with super quiet fans. Unless I put mine under load it's absolutely silent.
cant hear my pump at all. not when the case is closed.and i can play most games with it staying silent.
water > air for noise and performance. unless you have a terrible setup.
Lower temps, usually noisier.

sorry but you are wrong. you cant generalise 'watercooling noise' as there are lots of variations. and i can guarantee mine is quieter than yours.![]()
