Hope I'm not referring to a competitor... but I brought a macbook on 27th June from the 'pear' store in person at a location in the uk.

They didnt issue me a receipt per se, but said it would be emailed to me. Fine and dandy, got the email etc.

Today is the 16th July, a whole 19 days later and the money has still not been taken out of my credit card account.

Is it normal for something to take this long to come through??? Have they forgotten about it?? If so.... :D :D

Personally, I would.

If they chase you up, plead ignorance. ;)

Phone them up and ask them why it hasn't come out, if there was difficulty on their side, offer to pay them in a different way or something.

In cases of suspected fraud, the police can send a data protection waiver to the bank and get addresses and other information ;).

In which case i'll be happy to reimburse them.

I certainly don't mind paying for it, but if there's a chance to get it for free then who am I not to take that chance! £700 saved!

Yes, also offer to pay them extra for any inconvenience you may have caused by not phoning sooner.

A company has 2 years to claim the cash from you, depending on how they took your card details - blocking will not def stop the payment.
