I doubt it will cost them much, the percentage of 840 Evo owners who are actually aware of the problem must be tiny.

I mean I'm a member here and try to keep on top of developments and rumours etc. and even then I only saw that thread by chance and well after it had been started.

I wont be buying a samsung drive until this issue is fixed, is it a consequence of the 3 bits per cell technology? is anyone else using that?....from what i read on benchmarks there isnt enough difference between a slower and faster sata 3 ssd to not go for anything other best $/GB and perhaps warranty...
