Dunno why, but my E6420 beats the E6600 a few posts back.
1175 KB/s.
727 KB/s with multithreading turned off.

That's with everything at stock, using a P5N-E and Crucial Ballistix 6400-C4.

I'm tempted to overclock it, but not sure.

Just an update. I swapped to a Q6600 an 2GB of cheap Crucial Ballistix PC5300 (667Mhz 3,3,3,8) ram. I have upped the Q6600 to 3Ghz and have the ram running at PC8000 (1000Mhz) with 4-4-4-12 timings, 2.3V Same ram that is on special this week. 24 passes memtest stable last night and I have just remoted in to the machine and run the benchmark using Winrar 3.70 b6. Even with the remote session open I am getting 2,253 on the benchmark. Might be higher when running it without the remote load added.

What memory you got and what timings ? Are you running it 4:3 atm, wont it run 1:1 ?

@Lazyboy nice overclock with 4GB Ram. Good winrar score for 4GB setup. Not many 4GB results at the moment.

Its probably the same result as someone else at the same memory speed I think.
The memory doesnt clock well particularly and its rated to 333

A clean reboot helps, this one I took just now with a 2.1gig commit charge
