Hayfever - Thread

Heyfever for has been great for me this year as I have been taking loratadine tablets since February.

Hayfever has been pretty random so far this year, good days and then terrible days. What has helped is a good air purifier in the bedroom. Have that on all day which does make a difference. Good old cetirizine hydrochloride taken everyday is a must.

The only positive of long COVID is that hayfever is almost non existent ... Has been since I got COVID on August 23.

If I sneeze it usually means my taste/smell is semi decent...used to complain about hayfever, would gladly take it back for my taste/smell to be restored...

Not suffering right now but end of February and almost the whole of March were hard for me. I am taking Treathay tablets which can be bought without prescription now.

I never knew if I had hay fever or not as I'd never been formally tested for it, but last week one day mid afternoon, I could not stop sneezing. I must've sneezed about 20 times in a row, then I checked the weather and lo and behold, very high pollen that day. I guess that answers whether I have it or not then. Went out and bought a spray and tablets for it now to have on hand.

Been OK this year but forgot to take fexofenadine this morning and went out for a 10 mins walk earlier, came back sneezing and nose running until I did. Swear by fexofenadine and Beconase though, it's settled a lot since taking it. Last year wasn't too bad either but no signs of growing out of it since it started in my teens :(

I have been on fexofenadine for at least two years.

I've not had wheezing like I used to get on weaker tablet, but I can't avoid pollen as I have to walk the dog every day and when it's hot like this I tend to go to the woods where it's cooler.

I've had some quite bad sinus pain this week at times, which I think is hayfever related. I'm sure usually by now though it on its way out but seems to be persisting longer than previous years.

Loratadine everyday and I've still been having issues this year.

The best thing I've found that actually allows me to breathe through my nose on bad days is a nasal wash with sea salt

Yeah you look daft doing it but in the shower who cares.

I tend to suffer in random spurts, most of the symptoms I can manage but the itchy eyes are very irritating.

So far this year i've been spared but you just never know.
