hd 5970 availability?

I have an update:

After hearing that the prediction of GPU delivery was ~20 every day this week I became a little concerned after 3 days past and I hadn't heard anything (at the time I was 16th on the pre-order list).

I called up OcUK today to find out what's going on. The current situation is that they are only likely to receive 4 to 5 GPUs every week! A little different from how it was before.

I placed my order on 29/01/10 and I am now number 10 (up from 16). I guess I should expect my card within 3 weeks. Hopefully you other chaps can predict your own orders based on mine.

This is what I mean... Another one ordered after mine who got theirs first... I was told by OCUK that system builds are priority which mine is... Not moaning at the customers here by the way.. Good for them to get theirs early.
 
Or call them. Mistakes can happen...

When did you place your order Griffter?

Could they have shipped a tad earlier to me because I'm overseas? I dunno...

Agreed, mistakes happen, but in this case when we all spend a lot of money AND when so many people are patiently waiting, it pays to minimise these kind of mistakes.

I have pics but no benchmarks as yet.

First my husband has to cut off some parts of the HDD cage :D so I get it in. It does 'fit' in a way, but I can't fully insert it in the pci-e slot because it hits the back part of the hdd cage.
I could do it myself, but I'm trying not to because though hubby knows nothing on pc's he's capable of a much neater metal cutting job than me!

I did a quick OC and ran Unigine heaven. Put the card back at stock after benchmarking. LOL this card doesn't need to be overclocked for games!! Note I'm using an E8400 processor (oc'd) and my mobo doesn't provide pci-e x16 at 2.1 but only pci-e x16 at 1.0! You guys with more modern mobo's and with quads/phenoms/intel i3/i5/i7 series will be getting much higher scores!

Anyway, has anyone else received their 5970 by now?

I was eager to see some feedback, re drivers and performance.

Today I tried to register it on ATI's webside.... couldn't find the 5970 listed anywhere :confused:
