HD-DVD Arrive - Small Problem: Adv Required

im not fussed the thing wasnt completely sealed, i mean everything inside was, the actualy drive etc.. - its just been opened purely to get the DVD lol

I'd be slightly annoyed tbh. He clearly stated it contained the hddvd and it's obvious he has taken it out. Plus, although the movie is far too long it's one of the best HD dvds for picture quality out at the moment.

Thats allot of money.

I couldn't get hold of one so shelled out for a SKY HD box instead. (and by instead I really mean as well).

No rush for a HD DVD drive as the films are thin on the ground anyway right now, I'll grab one when they calm down abit.

I know its a long shot but any HD-DVD vendors that dont fall foul of the comp rules?

The places I use for DVDs normally have a rather poor selection..

Going completely off on a tangent here, but I hate that saying, partly because I've absolutely no idea what it means ! :p

Care to explain?

Dunno its origins, but to be al gravy - to be all good.

atleast thats how i understood it

i was hoping to test it myself, even got my mate round who is yet to see it lol :(

The guy sells a lot of stuff so maybe he has "helpers" and one of them helped themselves, i wont judge the guy as long as he cant offer some money in return...or preferably send me the HDDVD instead.

You wouldn't have had this hassle if you'd just bought one from the US :p saved yourself £15, and got King Kong :D

If you used PayPal, flag it as disputed so he doesn't get his moola 'til he's sorted things out ;)

That seems fine man, Ive had problems like this before - infact today I recieved dead rising *sealed* and it was not. It also didnt come with the map which it was supposed to.

Basically you get some people that are pathetic, for example I won a dvd, realised it was a fake and said that on the feedback. He gave me feedback saying that I didnt pay him and was a time waster so we both had to do a "mutual feedback" with each other. Really annoying...

Think logicly, if i "knew" there was a site selling them for £70 less - i would have paid it? i know of a site for £160 but for the US edition, this was an extra £15 for UK (which i prefer)

well mine is japanese, the remote is all in japanese which is a bummer but i already have an english one so it doesnt really affect me, ill give the jap one to my cousin, the power cord has an electric shaver end to it so i use my electric shaver convertor to power it, basically with the convertor its a normal plug, but i suppose i could unwire it and use a british plug but im not gonna bother not as if im gonna ever unplug it, but the drive works perfectly, there is no difference between this one and the UK one and it was delivered very quickly took less than 2 days all the way from east asia, the website is very popular for region free games too that are cheaper than buying them here

you do know theres a website selling them for £102.78, mine arrived today it had the same holder as yours but no HD DVD of king kong, but i also bought mine for £72 less so i really dont care

Got ours from them the other day but was a bit disappointed it didn't come with KK. Not sure they are the same price anymore but I don't think KK is worth £72 extra either. :)

Thing is, it costs £102.78, then you add the £20 shipping, then you add the English remote because the one it comes with is Japanese so it comes to the same price you actually pay for it in the Uk so I don't really see much point. Actually since the remotes about £20 your paying £10 more than the Uk price

I think you are thinking of somewhere else, this was complete with uk remote and we collected it. I've checked too it is now standard retail of £130.

Hmm if £130 is the retail price why are they selling it for less?. The only cheaper ones ive found were on a Japanese site selling it for exactly the same price pounds and pence

If he doesn't reply, open a dispute with paypal about note recieving the goods stated in the auction. I had a similar experience to you a few months back. I bought this MP4 player and in the description it said it was a 1.8" screen but when i recieved it i only got the 1.5" version even though i paid more for the 1.8" version.

I sent the guy a message, he never replied(he was a powerseller) so after awhile i opened a dispute with paypal about not recieving goods as stated and in that little description i wrote either he send me out the product i paid for or i get a part refund of £15.

A week or two went by, obviously paypal had a hard time contacting the seller so they told me that i would recieve the sum i had declared acceptable which was £15 back into my paypal account.

Hope this helps.
(Sorry, the above assumes you used paypal to pay)

On another note, my free month of xbox live gold has expired :(

Yup card payment via paypal :) thanks for the advice.

No reply as yet, but i emailed them other day to check it was def UK version and got reply within 2 hours - will give them the benefit of the doubt though and wait a bit more

Good stuff :)

Well i emailed the chap, so will let you guys know how i get on :)

Really wanted to test one out aswell :( Superman Returns should be here tomorrow at least :D

Very interested in how Superman Returns turns out. Was tempted to get a HD-DVD player for this just to see this film!! In fact, if I walked into a shop tomorrow and I saw a brand new one for 129.99 with Superman Returns bundled instead of King Kong I would buy one in a flash :D

(I've seen King Kong on my mates HD-DVD player and its amazing, but not really a film I want to watch again, hence, buy).

Hope you get your DVD of this bloke. But he sounds like he's tried to scam you. You don't accidentally leave the disc out. Now you have called him on it he'll prob just post it to you.
