the SATA sockets on the bios show that they are empty when they are plugged in and have power leads and sata leads going to them.....it does find the SSD and windows has been installed on it ok.

the Hard drives you dont here spin or anything both nothing as if not connected at all
BUT have fitted them both into another pc and they both work fine and have been formated
have swaped the SATA Cables from the ssd and power to the HD but stil nothing any ideas? thanks

Not knowing the spec I'll offer a guess.
Remove both the HDD's and power up with only the SSD with the OS install on.
If you can hot plug the HDD's then try them one at a time,if not then power off again and try connecting them one at a time and re-starting etc,

Also check the mobo settings for the sat ports.

If your 100% sure the HDD's are not even spinning, then it's a power issue as the HDD's should spin on startup regardless of the data connection.

If they are spinning on another machine I would double check the power cables going to them.

Depending on the board and chipset, some SATA ports can be disabled if you use a M.2 SSD. This includes NVMe M.2 SSDs, they can also disable two SATA ports. Check the manual, it'll tell you which.
