this is really interesting i would like to know actually as i am using the nvraid and 2*seagates. might have to benchmark them and see how they turn out!

Those 7200.10s are sweet drives.Just been reading this thread and someone mentioned about disabling cache reads. I'm wanting to do this with my RAID setup because it looks like it gives one hell of a performance boost!
But is this read cache option only available to Nvidia RAID controller users? I don't have an NF controller, I use an Sil3112. Will this option still be there for me? i've looked in the device manager and can't seem to find it

Just wondering whether the following performance is what should be expected from a standard IDE drive:
I know it is not fast but I have had some problems with the hard disk recently so wonder if it may be failing?
