I seem to have got a write problem on one of my drives. Only noticed it over the last few days though.

I can read the files fine i.e. copy the files from the drive to another but it doesn't seem to like me writing to it. When I do attempt to write it pauses the computer for about 15-20 seconds then continues then after 10 seconds it does the same.

Any ideas what's going on here and the best way to prove there's an error?
anything worth trying to fix it? before I copy everything off it and send it back for an RMA?

That's a bit odd that's it's just writing. Try a new SATA cable and port, then download and burn the manufacturers utility and run a full test to see if anything comes up. If that finds nothing then see if it's playing up using a live CD like Ubuntu etc as in the past I've had Windows installs act funny when there wasn't an issue.

For me its the best way to fix problems, seen as i get irriated quite easilly, something like this happened to me a while back, so I done that and it fixed it.

just tried a full scan using HD tune to start with and here's the results.
seems it shows the reason why its only just started happening
