Hey guys,

Long story short I have one SSD for windows "C" drive a 1TB HDD for programs "D" drive and Finally 1TB "E" drive is for games

Over the last few days my PC is starting to hang/freeze when I load anything from my "E" drive Origin, Steam but anything I load from my "D" drive like Itunes is fine, Widows is fine also untill I load anything from "E" then it hangs.

Before I come to the conclusion that it's about to die and replace it, is there anything I should do/check to rule out any other possibility's.

Firstly grab anything off the drive that you don't want to lose, if it is dying it can upgrade to full blown dead very quickly.

You should check the drives S.M.A.R.T log, the free trial of HDTune will let you do that. It's not always 100% reliable but it's a good place to start.

If the problem is easily repeatable you could open up the Windows resource monitor (run - perfmon), and hopefully see what the system is playing at when it hangs.

Then there's the good old fashioned test of sticking your ear next to the drive when the system hangs and check if you can hear anything odd.

I'll give that ago,

The latest thing it's doing is when I play music from Itunes, every 20 seconds or so the music stops PC hangs for about 5 seconds then the music comes back on and the PC it working again,.

I tried Hdtune and it's giving me errors on (0A) spin retry count WARNING, (C4) Reallocated Event Count WARNING and (C7) Interface CRC Error Count ATTENTION, with the Health status being WARNING..

So I guess this means It's ****** right?
