HDD Clicking

A while ago I bourght a external drive for my laptop (WD Digital 2TB) and have recently built a tower PC and since removed it from the caddy it was supplied in. I found out the drive was a Caviar green.

Earlier today I noticed that about every minute it will make a very slight click sound. Quite hard to make out but if I don't have any music on it's enough to annoy you.

I know that clicking can mean it's failing but it's the most slight click ever, could it be failing or is this just something I will have to put up with. And boy if it is failing finding another cheap 2TB drive to backup to will be fun

Thanks!

I had a WD Digital passport start clicking last week so sent it back now for rma. Takes a few weeks to a month to get a replacement as it goes to another country.

See I would do this but I don't have a big enough drive to back-up my data too XD, and with HDD prices still high I reckon I will try and wait it out until I can buy another 2TB drive
