Finally got my second SSD back from a pal, and i am wanting to raid up the two i have to have a 500gb boot SSD. if i clone the drive is it just plug and play or is there a lot of messing about with drivers and programs?

wanting to clone the SSD to an HDD, then raid 0 the two SSD's then clone the HDD back to the raid 0 array.

you cant, your original windows wont have the raid drivers so it will bootloop

if you google how to enable raid without re installing, theres a simple reg tweak you can do,it lets windows install the raid drivers, then you set to raid and then you can clone across your old windows to the spare hdd and back to the raid array

and yes its perfect bootable copy provided you fool windows into installing the needed raid drivers first

Personally I dont see the point in having a RAID built from SSD's especially a RAID 0.
One SSD is fast enough for me.

My Windows 8.1 boots to desktop in ten seconds.

I will have a little google and see what I can do,
The only reason I don't want to do a fresh install is last time there was 2 days downloading games and windows updates.

It's not for speed it's for size. I had one ssd but wanted a little more room do I sell my 240 and buy a 500 or save cash and just get a second 240.

I will never notice any extra speed but as my 240 is at 90% I will notice the extra size
