Hi,

Got an extremely annoying problem, my HDD is constantly clicking, accessing itself when as far as I can see its doing nothing but idling. Its getting extremely annoying now as its doing it constantly, and distracting when your trying to do soemthing else.

Anyone got any ideas why it would be constantly accessing whilst sat at iddle for over an hour?

HDD is a Seagate 320GB SATA 16mb.

Cheers for any advice/help. I know its vague, but i aint got a clue myself why its doing it.

Add disk I/O columns to task manager (under processes tab) and see what process is doing it.

For more detail you can grab filemon and see what actual files are being accessed.

Wouldn't surprise me if its csrcc.exe or lsass.exe....but that's crappy windows for you..
