Hi all,

Having quite a few issues with regards to data but the biggest problem I am having is copying data from my raid 0 array (Server 2008 r2 software raid) to a 3tb harddrive.

No matter what I try it seems to get stuck at random points of the copying.

When using explorer to copy and paste it got stuck on a file and gave an I/O error.

I tried using xcopy and that has managed to copy more but has now got stuck on a completely different file.

I don't quite understand why its getting stuck as I have tried a selection of files form the array (including the ones that get stuck) and I am able to open them all.

So any Ideas how I can copy this across? or why this is happening?

Cheers

Ali

do you think it could possibly be an OS issue? I noticed it installed very slowly and stop responding when the copy freezes...

anyone?

Trying to reinstall an OS (going for win 7) it wont let me install it.

when I tell it to install to my 500gb drive i get the error:

WINDOWS IS UNABLE TO INSTALL TO THE SELECTED LOCATION. ERROR: 0X80300024

Doubtful but have you tested your memory? I've seen windows fail to install because of RAM issues. The error indicated that the HDD was the problem but when I got a new HDD it still gave an error.

Turned out to be the RAM.

Also I have had some success copying files using Linux where windows would fail to copy the file with no explanation as to why it was happening.
