ive got a samsung 80gb

by accident when reinstaling xp it i formatted it with ntfs method intead of doing my other hdd, so ive lost all my mp3's that were on it

is there any freeware software that can recover the data ?

The best one is not FREE, most apps are simply to Undelete files not Recover from format or a messed up HDD.

I used a program by Runtime software "GetDataBack for NTFS". I have accidently deleted the wrong hard drive once, and when pulling out a external drive from esata without "safely removing" and it saying the drive is in a "RAW" format, been able to recover 100% of all the files I lost, with the file names and folders still in tacked.
