AFAIK yes. it did yesterday anyway when windows couldn't see it. i'll check again now though. my hunch will be yes.
Try this.:In Device Manager go to View > Show Hidden devices then udner Storage Volumes remove/uninstall any that are grey and reboot.
question:
does anyone know if the external SATA port (eSATA i think it's called?) on a chassis case can be used to plug in a regular SATA HDD like this? does the HDD still require a SATA power cable to run?
i'm thinking about plugging it in exernally to this eSATA port and trying that out.
