Stared my PC up this morning using DBAN to wipe an old driver and trip switched the PC off in the process of wiping the drive.

I've now connected the drive to my laptop via USB docking station and need to try and wipe the drive again, but the MMC is requesting it to be initialized and disk part is struggling to get anywhere also, partition magic not working on this either.

I'm looking to use eraser to clean the drive this time round, but need to find a solution to make the drive active again.

Any ideas?

Have you tried plugging the SSD into another SATA port on the motherboard?

Have you tried the OCZ Toolbox see what that says ?

I should have been more clear.

I've been trying to erase a 1TB Samsung drive as I'm looking to sell it and ran into this issue. I've now successfully recovered the drive as working using DiskPart. I'm not always grateful for MS tools, but this one has been particularly helpful.

Thanks for your advise :D

Also, doing a deep scan this drive to ensure all files are removed is taking 10+ hours. Should i expect the drive to get reasonably hot from this? The firmware chip is ROASTING!!!
