Wondered if anyone can help me, I wanted to add some extra storage to my gaming pc, I currently have a 250gb m.2 and a 1tb hdd, I have purchased another 1tb hdd to run.

I have plugged this into a data cable and plugged the usb into the board,

When switching my pc on I can’t see it at all in the disk management.

I have tried different data cables into the drive, tried plugging usb into different ports with no luck.

Also I have been to my mates and tried it in his pc with no luck, I have tried everything I can think of.

Is there anything in the bios settings I have to switch on?

Anyone else had issues like this?

Thanks in advance

have plugged this into a data cable and plugged the usb into the board,

Data should read sata, autocorrect

Still not sure how you are connecting the drive - where does USB come into it?

What model drive is it, and what's your motherboard?

Have you checked in the BIOS if it is appearing there against the correct SATA port? There are no settings, it should appear automatically; unless you've previously disabled SATA ports that weren't in use.

The other possibility is that your board disables some SATA ports when you have an M.2 drive - check your motherboard manual to see if that's the case and if so make sure you aren't using one of those ports.
