HDD Question

Im still a major noob when it comes to building comps

I have http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A79XTD_EVO/#specifications

that motherboard

whats the best 2-3tb hdd sata i can connect to that and what wire will i need. budget approx 100-120 £

all cos im getting confused about sata 1,2 or 3 versions and what my motherboard is compatible for

Simply put the speeds increase with the newer specifications :
SATA 1 - 1.5Gbit/s
SATA 2 - 3Gbit/s
SATA 3 - 6Gbit/s

Most mechanical drives won't get close to bottlenecking a SATA 2 connection.

A couple of SATA cables will likely be bundled with the mainboard. The board spec suggests it has a full complement of SATA 3 ports.

Your board only has SATAII ports anyway...

That one is a SATAIII HDD but you can use it, as it is backwards compatible.

No, you can use SATA3 but it won't make a difference.
