HDD Repair software

Can anyone recommend some software to check/repair HDD's ? my mate is having some issues with the HDD in his laptop and wants to try a repair before replacing it.

if its having issues then just back it up if poss and replace.

try the manufacturers website they always have HDD software to check over their HDDs

Just spoke to him he said it's having an error and rebooting, I haven't seen it but it's a Dell Laptop and he reckons the HDD isn't replaceable from what he can see.

None of them are repairable. Just buy an SSD and replace it.

Every laptop can have any component replaced.

my mate whos laptop it is lives by Saundersfoot.

He said it's a Dell L502x.
