HDD setup

I've been pondering the question for a while....

Would i notice a difference if i baught a setup like this
Western Digital Raptor 36GB WD360ADFD 10,000RPM SATA 16MB Cache - OEM (HD-095-WD)
Western Digital Caviar SE16 400GB 4000KS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD-076-WD)

Or if i baught

2x Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB 2500KS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD-046-WD)

Well the Raptors are faster but noiser and hotter, the 400GB and 250GB is from the same line. I use 3200KS/2500KS and been happy with them. IMO 400GB are unecomical per GB, 250/320GB is the sweet spot.

You can buy the 7200rpm's and can always buy a Raptor, if you feel the hard drive is the bottleneck (or go into RAID 0) hmm speed or capacity, currently capacity as pretty fast anyway, more RAM should help too (less swapping)

Thanks a lot for the information.

I read a while ago using a raptor as a OS HDD makes things faster (apparantly).

But i think i'll just go with the 2x 250g.
