I seem to be accumulating HDDs im about to get another one this weekend [2TB but not sure which], anyway, atm the large >TB drives are just archive, be it blu ray, music, backup etc.

atm they are all non raid internally on my main PC [i have one portable for OS image backup] but im thinking now with a 3rd >TB on the way is this the best idea? should i keep them externally?

also is the current deal on the samsung 2TB eco green decent? never had one would go seagate but its 10£ more almost

If it was me, and I had that many, I might be tempted to RAID 1 them and have a good backup. Obviously keeping them internally.

I have never really liked external drives, they always tended to be more trouble than they are worth for me.

^ so you would just keep them all in the main PC tower?, not really fussed about raid 1, the data is all hard copied as original discs etc would only be lost time with HDD failure

You're already using 'JBOD' if they're in your comp. It just means a bunch of disks not in RAID, the only reason the term is used is if you're running them a through a RAID controller without actually using a RAID setup. Same as not using onboard RAID chip.
