Head Unit Stuffs

I've just bought the DEH-P7000UB for my car and have to say its really good. Comes with all the stuff for ipod connection and gives you full control of the ipod on the headunit with track names etc etc. More importantly it works quickly and effectively with the ipod unlike pioneers of old. Bit more expensive than the one above but I reckon worth it.

Got one myself a few weeks back.

Agree with all of the above. Only problem is you can't change the colour (blue), but that doesn't really bother me.

It should fit flush with the dash and has red lit lighting so would suit the e46 nicely.

No aftermarket head units suit the e46 nicely.

No Alpine are up there at the top with pioneer also mate

not sure why one unit comands the £50 premium tho.

Cheers for that fella. The 9880 is the cheaper of the two and fits my interior better, so it looks like were onto a winner.

It's £50 more at halfords though, so looks like I'm buying it online

Pioneer DEH-P6000UB

HAd it a few months and love it!
Bought for its USB connectivity so that I can use my iPhone for muisc. Can either use the iPhone to change tracks/search etc or use the headunit, quality for the price!

No aftermarket head units suit the e46 nicely.

Not OEM nicely but they still looks fine as long as the case colour is same as dash and the lights/display position/colour are similar!

I'm getting my new Alpine unit installed in the Golf tomorrow which will allow me to dump the Goodmans one it came with

i've had sony and jvc and they felt cheap and didn't perform well

the sony had good sound quality but was all plastic and nasty

I certainly can't complain with the features or sound quality of Alpine, but my god, the styling or should I say lack of.

Fortunately, all styling is 'retro'

The alpine will fit in lovely. Looks like a winner, now it's to decide whether the extra £50 is worth it.

no, no aftermarket headunits look remotely fine in an e46, ruins the flow of the dashboad as it's the wrong size and doesnt sit flush. OEM > * on the e46.
