Hey! I just bought a new headset with a mic, they're one of the cheaper ones called "Piranha Gaming Headset HP70" when I plug the headphone jack and the mic jack only the mic works and there is no sound on the headphones. I ticked the option "Disable front panel jack detection" but it still doesnt work. That's what I have in my "playback" https://ibb.co/k4pTbGzand this in "recordings" https://ibb.co/2NRXWLx. I also tried plugging out my speakers and just using the headphones but it still doesnt work.

My specs:
Mb: Z87-GD65 GAMING
CPU: I5-4670k @4ghz
GPU: Dual Gtx 1060 6gb
PSU: Corsair CX750M
RAM: corsair vengeance 2x4gb + 8gb Adata
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

Welcome aboard.

First try headphones with any other source device to rule out that they're not broken.
For example smartphone with 3.5mm jack would be enough for testing.

Then if you haven't done so you might need to install Realtek's drivers/software... or reinstall them.
Alpha testing phase Wintoys10 might have just patched its settings broken or messed drivers.
Nowadays we're Microsoft's unpaid alpha testers.

Also disable that Realtek digital output for avoiding chances of it messing something, if it isn't used.
There's no sense to have not needed output devices enabled.
Those are just more things for Wintoys to mess with.
I even disable those "HDMI" outputs from Device Manager.

I disabled everything from the "playback" tab and still nothing when I plug in the headphones it doesnt even show me that there is something plugged in but the MIC works fine.
