Headphone recommendations for iPod

I've been using the MX500's for 5 days now and am very pleased with them.

I'd be interested in seeing how much you payed for them as well.
It took me ages to find a pair when i got mine, i was lucky, because i was in a shop in Brum, and noticed them as i was paying for something else, so i got mine for £15.

I just paid ~£7 for a set of MX550s from fleabay. Guy had 10000 feedback, so I expect to receive them! Be interesting to see how they compare to my old MX500s

I doubt there would be any difference. Afaik, the differences between the MX500s & 550s is just the design. I think.

PX100s, Koss Porta Pros, Sharp MD33s, Sure EC2 are what I'd be looking at.

is it just me or do i have rip off mx500's or something? - mine sucked tbh, flakey mid range, ok bass but tinny - i got them very cheap from an auction site, allough they look real?

the best headphones ive had were bundled with my stereo, samsung they were, and bloody magic, but i broke them lol - my votes with the sharps or koss sparkplugs

Dispite what I said earlier, I've stopped using my MX500's. After a while I noticed the sound wasn't that good at all, and they're quite big and would fall out of my ears when cycling.

I've gone back to my Sony MDR-ED21LP's, which is what I wanted to upgrade from in the beginning! It's a shame they don't come in white, as I like everyone to know I have an expensive iPod.

i wouldnt want everyone to know i bought an apod

especially if it was a "mug me" area lol

i need some bloody headphones now lol - about 20 quid to spend and the senns are out of the question

I'll agree with you there. The PX100 or PMX100 sound a lot better. I couldn't be doing with in ear headphones anymore.

well as no one has mentioned em thaught id chime in with the words sony e888's but most awesom headphones ive heard, dont isolate aswell as the e2's but sound better, more of a soundstage to em, and the mids have a lil more resolution to them.

that said they're not white. but been stopped in the street about em, "those the new sonys the 70 somthings?" "71's? nope 888's cant get em anymore in this country, sorry love" not sure if she was trying to chat me up or was genuinly interested in the phones but she was a troll.

sos for going slightly off topic there, im tired.

Just got the MX550's - very disappointed in them. Sound was clean but pretty tinny, the original ipod phones felt much warmer to me. But the L and R are fading off and I need new ones!

Errr - draw on new L & R using permanent marker, or mark the R one in some way - thats what I did with my old MX500s before some thieving thief robbed them.

Mug me area? thats the entire UK anyhow

You can always print off an Alba logo and stick it on the side of your headphones that way you will still get mugged
