***HEADS UP: MSI GTX 580 OC @ £399 Until Midday Monday!!***

Look guys this isn't happening for me. It's just not working. I've follow the instructions to a T and I've been at it since 11am. I can't get the boot key way to work I just end up in Windows again. I want this card RMA'd...

I understand your frustration - but to get this fixed you have 2 options

1) request a RMA from OCUK using the webnote system (see the contact us link on the main web page)
2) see if you can get in contact with scottieb off here - he seems to be a helpful chap

I'm sure the store people are so busy that they can't come on here very often, but if you go through the proper channels I hope that you can get this sorted as we all know how frustrating it can be when things don't work out as they should.

Best of luck :-)

Try and boot using a DVD or CD,ive had trouble booting from a USB sometimes.

Its so strange, they sold a card that is not as advertised, yet for what ever reason they seek to protect the real culprit.. MSI, OC have lost much in this, it almost looks like they colluded to bring to market a "iffy" batch of cards!

I used NVwinflash..and flashed my cards from within windows, it dead easy to do

All you need to do is
1) Run Command Prompt as administrator
2) go to the Nvwinflash folder (which also needs to have the new GTX bios rom in it)
3)Then Type " nvflash -5 -6 gtx.rom " (replace GTX with whatever name you called your bios rom)
4) press " Y "
5) reboot when nvwinflash has finish flashing

must have Flashed my two GTX 580 at lest about six times today...
Keep changing my mind on what core speeds/fan speeds/voltages i wanted as i found the fans got to loud and temps to high with the core clock set to 823mhz

Thanks for that chaparral! Got it flashed now! One question though. How do I create my on BIOS for example I want to create one that is identical to the one I've just flashed it with but I want to up the volts to 1.050V?

See this thread here http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=336117

I use the FERMI BIOS EDITOR 1.55 to edit my the clocks & voltages..

after a week of to and fro from ocuk management they have decided they cannot offer me any games apart from the crap ones they want rid off so lads to be honest never buy from this company again i know i wont with my new parts.

complete shambles with a whole week for a reply and in the end up i get nothing so to be fair ocuk have made themselves and easy target as they have taken payment for £414 and by that i have a binding contract with me for goods at the same value.they think i am going to RMA after the way they treat me LOL.

anyone want to try to sort this via pm before it goes further?

1) Why did you not returned it within 7 days for full refund
2) RMA the card to MSI or ScottiB to sort out the OC speeds

if you were not happy with it

im happy except when i go to sell it for nvidia keplar its going to have lost re sale value, how do i auction it when its clearly an oc model lacking an oc? so i asked for a free game that i do not own, pretty simple considering its the same cost as what it will cost them in man hours to stability test and pay shipping.

i did not return because for that money there was only ocuk version when i had a beter msi one so why return it and i also need stock cooler as my case is setup for positive air pressure.

if rossdh is struggling then i will and i really cba so the only way is to return to msi but who the hell pays for that? and i still get nothing for that anyways so either way i lose out i think.

im just angry as every order i place here gets messed up in some way, last gfx card missing cables and games, mouse sent to some person last week who got my phone number from invoice etc and the graphics card too and its just so fustrating when people on webnote just send you an rma form for a refund.i asked to return my goliathus unopened yesterday and i had a reply asking if it was sealed........... great a full day wasted for that stupid reply and tbh i almost hit the roof cus now it takes another day for him to reply to me.goliathus boxes are not sealed and u can easily look inside and feel the material so why did he ask when its under distance selling regulations? facepalm

neither was wanted what was wanted or asked for was for a new one sealed with pre oc delivered and my old picked up via courier or a free game like cataclysn or black ops, id of been wiling to pay £10 towards black ops to be fair.

considering im going to be splashing £800 somewhere online for pc parts in the next 2 weeks and i have already spent £500 in the last 2 weeks with ocuk is it that much to ask?

Do some screen prints of this thread and take it forward, OC are clearly in the wrong here (item not as described), i am just glad I am not one of the victims.

Its very clear that OC had a clear policy early on to not comment on this thread, thats where their reputation has been majorly damaged, just look at the thread reads, pretty dam high even next to Intels Sandybridge **** up.

Hopefully OC will learn from this, ignorance is not bliss and that even customers who are not involved will draw very negative conclusions from such poor customer service.

ive been to ocuk management and got offered 3d mark vantage or mw2 or stalker and it takes a full week to get a reply and u cannot reply to a webnote via email! arghhh

i said i owned all 2 games and asked for a pre order for black ops and was refused, i mentioned the mouse being sent elsewhere and my older problems and they just refunded my shipping which everyone else got for free so im not happy at all :<

they had cataclysm in stock and didnt offer that at least that could have been worth something to someone in members market so i could have got my black ops for £10 ish so im going to ask them again one more time and explain that im really just at the point where ill close the forum account and just start going elsewhere.

wow you got offered some thing, rest of us have had nothing

also where do peeps download nvwinflash from? google is throing up some forign sites which make now sense to me

Hi Guys,

The truth is that nobody knew about the issue until it was reported on the forum and once confirmed the stock was immediately withdrawn from sale. Neither OcUK or MSI colluded to do anything, other than to provide OcUK customers with a way to flash their cards to the correct spec once the issue was acknowledged.

Obviously customers who do not wish to flash the card themselves still have their statutory rights to fall back on or as Flyer01 discovered they can always contact me via trust and I will see if I can arrange to get it flashed for them.

I have apologised for this error on three separate occasions but there is little more that we can do as the 580 "OC" was pulled from sale completely after this so we have not got any correctly flashed stock.
