Hi guys, has anyone ever used heated seat covers? I've found some that have fairly good reviews. Main question, will the cigarette lighter socket be capable of running 2 seat covers?!

Thanks,

Mal

I honestly dont see the point.

I've had heated seats in my previous car, and my parents E60 has them, and I really dont miss them. The seat is warm soon after sitting in it anyway.

What i DO wish I had, and am surpised nobody else ever mentions, is a heated steering wheel!

I refer you also to post #2 :p Bloody wuss! ;)

O/T As you post far too often to keep track of, wtf is with the Corsa thing Foxy?

I don't think I'd ever want not-heated leather seats ever. Cloth ones are alright, as they don't get too cold.

You can get kits to heat seats properly, fitted actually inside the seat, don't think I've ever seen a heated cover, though.

The mods thought it would be amusing.

Thats the cheapy Ford leather that stays freezing for ever, noticed that in the Mondeo.

It was -2 the other morning, by the time I'd reversed off the drive the seat was no longer freezing cold.

I had never considered heated seats before, then I bought my S2000.

The cabin heater is great and all but it's just not enough sometimes for those late night roof down blasts under the stars.

Couple of other owners have done some nice retro-fits with decent kits off eBay and I plan to do so myself :)

Cheap, easy and hopefully effective.

I wish I had a heater that actually worked let alone heated seats! :( :o

Though I must admit, heated seats in some cars I have been in have been great. Jag is good, C class merc was alright but I remember this estate merc having stupidly hot heated seats which would feel like they were burn you. Maybe because the seats were cloth, not sure. :o

Shock as not everybody has the same opinions!

Heated seats are awesome, end of.

If I had the choice I would go for heated leather as the seats in mine seem to take an age to get warm. Heated steering wheel is a good should too Fox. Step dad has it in his E39 and says he wouldn't be without it now.
