Heating on in August!!

Where is here?

The thermometer that controls my heating said it was 18 at 8 this morning with all the windows open all night
 
24C reading on our underfloor heating controllers in every room here, in far south west Cornwall and windows were open all night.

Heating is fully automatic and room by room digitally controlled, oil fired and hasn't been on for months. Only comes on to heat our hot water. I don't expect it to come on for a long time yet. I'll have the oil tank filled ready for winter while the prices are low but still have almost half a tank at the minute.

I'm still wearing shorts and got the aircon on.

Mind you, I grew up in a house with no heating so I've never been one for the warm. On the contrary I prefer being colder.
 
If I had my way I'd be sat in the office in shorts with the aircon on cold, alas I'm sat here in shirt and trousers cooking to death.
 
No chance of the heating on anytime soon here. But chances are my neighbours will have their fire going somehow smoking out the entire neighbourhood like they did in July.
