Got to say, i've done my fair bit of Rallying back in a time when men were men and you believed everything you heard on television, and you most certainly do not use your toe on the gas while heeling the clutch, its the other way around, or at least it was when I had the chance to be a passenger with RB (r.i.p) three years ago.

Heeling the clutch?

.... but you are still using a heel/toe technique unique to you and not the 'common' technique used by most people. If you would like some lessons in how to do it the 'normal' way feel free to join me at Nurburgring next month.... :p

to play devils advocate for a moment, if Jims method works for him where is the problem?
i grew up being fiercely independant, sometimes to the point of total pig-headedness.i learned to do things MY way and while in many cases they are ways that are unique to me, they're no better or worse than the way everyone else uses.

100% on board with that, and have no issue with what works for him, but he was inferring that his technique was the norm, and everyone elses was not, which is wrong. I have no issues with his technique, I have issues with him suggesting its the norm.
