Heinz - awful products

I find Heinz products very inferior. Baked beans - sauce with a funny aftertaste with more bean carcasses. Soup - again funny aftertaste which coats tongue with certain flavours. Ketchup - far too acidic.

There are people who “have to have Heinz” probably never tried other brands.

Heinz’s products are so expensive, compared to other brands. Who pays £1.70 for a tin of soup, £4 for a bottle of ketchup, £1.50 for a tin of beans?

Think some people need to stop buying Heinz and switch to supermarket own label and discover the better taste and save money! Much prefer Sainsbury’s own ketchup.

Quite possibly, but there will be those who have tried equivalents and found them wanting, myself included.

It's a case of knowing what you're getting - if I want ketchup, I want that exact flavour profile that I've always enjoyed the most, and that's Heinz. I'm not talking tomato sauce, I'm talking ketchup.

If I want tomato sauce, I'll make it myself.

If I want ketchup, I want Heinz.

I mostly used Heinz or Branston beans but just use cheaper supermarket brands now.Always used Heinz Ketchup but due to price gave Bramwell Aldi brand Ketchup a go and never looked back can't tell the difference.

I actually prefer the taste of the really cheap dinner ketchup in squirty bottles. Beans is Branston.

Crucials sauces for the general sauces from sweet chilli, mint, hot chilli garlic mayo etc. Which fortunately my local butcher stocks at solid price to bottle size.

I would not call their products awful but they are overpriced i feel, I have ditched their beans and ketchup and now buy Branston beans and a cheaper Polish brand Ketchup that had rave reviews. I still buy their salad cream and Mayo

Branston beans are much better than Heinz. There’s also much better ketchups out there for cheaper.

I will always love their salad cream and classic curry sauce though. The curry tastes just like the Maccies one.

Their new pasta sauces are very good too. They really surprised me. A couple of them have actually been awarded a great taste badge for 2022. That’s unheard of for Heinz. https://greattasteawards.co.uk/resu...gory_id=&country_id=&county_id=&filter=Search

Polish mayo is lovely. Winiary brand.

Nah, still can't do Branston beans. I used to eat them all the time when I was a kid, like 35 years ago, so I know all about them.

I do get the reduced salt Heinz beans though. And yeah, Heinz Ketchup. Some soup, but only if it's on offer. I prefer Co-op own label soups, if I eat tinned soups, which is very infrequently, but I do keep a rolling stock of a 20/30 tins of various tinned soups. Probably eat 10 a year.

Agree about Hellman's mayo. It's okay, but any mayo is mayo. Eaten on sandwich when it's not the star of the show anyway.

Anyone found any instant gravy that's decent other than Bisto? I bought some in the co-op today and it was £3 quid. And that was on offer!!!

The beans are okay, Branston is just as nice.

Ketchup I only get Heinz.

What is over rated is Hellmann’s Mayo.
Although I haven't tasted either, there are those that say Heinz Mayo is better than Hellman's and Hellman's Ketchup is better than Heinz!

What is good though, is Heinz Sticky Korean BBQ sauce. It's hella good!

Kewpie Mayo above all. But it's very expensive, I save it for my favourite dishes as a dib where i can taste more of the flavour and use Hellmann's in things like Tuna Mayo sandwiches.

Will have to try Heinz Mayo.
