Heinz - awful products

but I do keep a rolling stock of a 20/30 tins of various tinned soups. Probably eat 10 a year.
Wow, is the apocalypse coming soon?

I agree with the ridiculous cost of Heinz products and their lacklustre taste, but it has been like that for ever. Massive marketing budget brings additional costs to the product that can't afford to be slightly different in case people don't buy it any more. New Coke anyone?

There's only two of us and I have a big kitchen with lots of storage :)

I don't think I've got more than 3 tins of the same variety. Nice to have a choice...

I've also got about 30 tins of chopped tomatoes. A good investment considering they're twice the price that they were a year ago. That said, I probably buy and use about 5 tins a week... I should have bought more...

Overpriced indeed, which is why we don't buy it. I don't find much difference in taste between the various random ketchup brands to be honest. Heinz I always found slightly more tangy....is that a thing? Dunno

For £5 a bottle I'd hope it would squirt the alphabet out.
Are you buying the MASSIVE bottles that need three strong people and a banksman just to get it off the supermarket shelf??!!
I don't think I've ever paid more than £2 for a bottle... Sainsbury's have it at £1.25 right now.

Only tried Heinz beans but do want to try Branston, I just don't have beans very often.

Don't like their ketchup, it's too sweet. Favourite is McDonalds and the closest I have found is Tesco own brand. I like it a bit more vinegary.
Best ketchup I have had is by Mr Organic, Italian Organic Ketchup.

They all seem to be over £3 on Tesco website? Admittedly I've not looked too much. £4 for the big one.

I'm quite happy having anything other than heinz, which on the most part is over salted and sugared **** to suit the American market.
Some Eastern European brands are not bad, but the biggest problem I have is living with someone who will not even taste it unless its heinz...

Looking around, they're all similar, although Sainsbury's has the bigger one for the same price (880g vs 910g).
But then other branded versions are similarly priced, too.
As I'm sure someone else will have pointed out, branded stuff usualy costs more... As to whether it's either better or worth it, that's entirely subjective.

Heinz has gone up 53% since 2020 apparently.... as have others, of course.

Although Lidl 500ml Ketchup is... 45p... lol

Own brand sales have increased by 47%. Would like to see the top 5 losers in brands. Reckon Heinz, Kelloggs and Andrex are there.

Still have customers buying everything branded. If fresh chicken was available in a brand, they would buy that too.

I dont really have a lot of Heinz products,However i do prefer their Mayo over Helmans.

With Helmans it tends to have a more "Vinegary" taste to it where as Heinz is more Neutral (to my taste anyway)

Sorry, I've tried various own brand soups, but Heinz is still the absolute winner in all comparable cases. Aldi does come a close second, to be fair, but their range is limited and only does common flavours. Sainsury's soups are hideous cack with poor flavour and nasty aftertastes.

Beans are beans. Own brands are fine, usually. Own brand tins tend not to have ringpulls, but I can use a can opener so I'm fine with that. Same for sweetcorn, peas, spaghetti shapes and all the other stuff kids seem to like.

Ketchup is ketchup, but it seems only Heinz can make bottles that squirt straight. All the others seem to squirt off at a random angle and it gets too messy.

Aldi's chunky soups are pretty much the same, but better than the Heinz Big Soup tins, but a lot cheaper at 70p. They do Minted Lamb, Beef & Veg and Chicken & Veg. Very tasty. Also, those Heinz soups were called Big Soup because they were bigger than your average can, but now they're the same size as every other can...

I don't buy much of Heinz products anymore, I do still get their Salad Cream and Sandwich Spread though as love that stuff, it hasn't changed throughout the years. Their Mayo is decent too.

Heinz is generally pretty rubbish, IMO.

Croos&blackwell and several other tinned soups are much better. I actually avoid Heinz these days as it's always dissappointing and over priced. Same with ketchup and beans.
