Well, it used to at least. I got actually a fair chunk of my posts by assisting with image manip requests here - I'd probably be close to 1k but not quite there yet without that chunk. That got changed however, so if you're not even attempting to be a part of any other sub-sections community, then your posts will definitely take a long while to increment.
