Are you talking about your own circumstances? You're speaking very definitely without providing anything to back up what you're saying.Do you realise how hard it is to prove you're innocent at the trial? It's nearly impossible. There are cases where it is clear the person didn't do it but can't 100% prove he didn't do it. In which case you don't get any compensation.
If you're accused of a crime how do you prove you didn't do it? If you could prove it you wouldn't be on remand in the first place!
Being taken from the streets, locked up and lose everything to get thrown out without any help isn't right.

It happened to me but I am just talking about me.
OP on other forum for reference said:What happened to me.
I went to Bristol for a job interview. Two weeks later I was arrested on attempted murder. I was interviewed and accused of trying to kill a woman and stealing her phone. I told them all I had done was speak to her. I was charged with GBH section 18 and robbery.
I was refused bail despite never being in any trouble before and spent 8 months in prison. The GBH first got lowered to ABH and then goy dropped completely. This just left the robbery. Worth noting I wouldn’t have been remanded on robbery. The trail lasted 1 hour before the prosecution decided not to continue as there wasn’t any evidence apart from things that helped me and so the jury found me not guilty.
-Turned out the girl had previously accused someone of rape and another man of kidnapping her from the same location that she accused me. Also had 44 convictions.
-She didn’t seek medical treatment until 3 days later which was the same day she put in a claim for compensation. The police didn’t take any photos of any injuries, all they had was a photo she took on her phone and we don’t know when that was taken. All that showed was red eyes.
-When they traced the phone our phones went in different directions.
- No witnesses, no CCTV other than us walking and talking which I had told them about. Fingerprints on the case of the phone didn’t match mine
There wasn’t any evidence. During the eight months I lost my job, was put in debt (direct debits still came out) and lost my flat.
I am the last person you would ever expect to be in prison. If it can happen to me it can happen to anyone.
I can't see how they can pick you off the street which caused me to lose everything and not get a penny compensation.
My story isn’t uncommon.
I've seen your descripton of it on DS

What channels have you tried to seek compensation through? If a false accusation was made specifically against you with evidence to support it was false then she should be being charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/p_to_r/perverting_the_course_of_justice_-_rape_and_dv_allegations/
Christ having read your post in the other forum I can't believe how you've been dealt with.
That's horrific.
I don't know about anything in the way of compensation as I'd doubt she'd have anything to give but she should have been charged.
Not much help, but the video below is probably one of the best explananations of why you should never talk to the police.
It doesn't 100%apply over here as its from America, but the reasoning is sound.
A lot of people, would be better off when they are picked up not saying a single word.

Same if your found guilty.
I was convicted of a crime I did not commit just because some ****** gave a false witness statement.
was casually walking home, see 3-5 guys roughly my age hanging out near a row of garages..
some guy comes running out of a back garden and they all leg it, I'm just casually walking still and he grabs me , forces me into his house, threatens to beat me with a baseball bat if I try anything..... phones the police and then has the cheek to claim he saw me physically trying to break into a garage....
His wife the whole time was telling him to just let me go.
I should have gone back and beat the crap out of the **** or at least confronted him about it after a few years
His word versus mine, claims he saw the whole thing from his slit of a bathroom window.
I'm only 15 so obviously no one is going to believe me no matter what, solicitor said I had no choice but to plead guilty..
wasn't my first time being arrested so it went to juvenile court or whatever they call it these days.
Had been arrested prior to that and received a caution when one of my friends kicked and popped an exposed rear light bulb on a skoda that had clearly been involved in a crash or something.
guy chases us with an axe..... everyone escapes after about a 5mile chase but someone has given him all our names.....
The police were told we put all the dents and stuff in his crappy skoda which is a total lie....
one guy did smash the light bulb though which we admitted to the police, everyone just got cautions so meh.
still shows how many dishonest ****** are out there
This feels like spam. Not helped by being your first post.
That said, I do agree that there should be, I did think that there was, there definitely is if you are imprisoned and then released if your conviction is overturned.
blatant troll so obvious.
but to answer its a odd one.
some people i know have been remanded for things like manslaughter done nearly two years and released after trial.
still two years of your life gone.
he never got any compo either.
What's your agenda Fletcher!
I mean Jones

What makes you think I am a troll?
.
I would at least of hoped they'd help compensate you for the lost time. I can understand it isn't a quick process but to lose 8 months alone is a substantial loss to a lot of us. Especially considering her past history I would have expected it to have been much quicker.
Is there no recourse to sue them or her?
I remember a story about a solicitor winning £500k for being in prison for about 25 hours I think.
Have you spoken to a professional about it?
Our local courts are completely spineless and hardly remand anyone at all, convicted shoplifters with 120 previous convictions, known drug dealers, the lot. All get released on wishy-washy bail with conditions.
