Hence my comment about them being more suited to every day cars rather than hot/sports cars.

Well no, they are suited to performance road cars not trackday weapons. They are hardly designed for a Focus Zetec.

Well if they are then I remain by my point that I think they are overrated, they don't feel nice to me at all. Pilot Sport 4's felt better.

Pilot Sport 4s are an all new tyre wheras F1A2 are years old. You'd expect a fresh design to be better.

I had the F1A3's on my Evo IX last year, back to back with Pilot Sport 3's, and I preferred the Michelins. Tyre feel is very subjective.

I've had them on my 330s, 335i and Cooper S.

The only time they felt like they weren't in their comfort zone is on track after many laps. I would never run the PSC2 on anything other than a track only car, and certainly wouldn't fit them to a road car that would be driven in cold/rain. I have the MPSS on my M3 and for me, that is the perfect balance between feel, handling and all weather grip. Sport Cup tyres at 70mph in the pouring rain would be scary :eek:

I've got Yokohama AD08R tyres on the Cooper and they're great in the dry and not bad in the wet but not something I'd want to run my primary car on.

For 99.99% of drivers, the AS2/AS3 offer an excellent all round performance tyre at an excellent price.
