I tried unplugging the power supply, waiting a minute and pressing the button on power then CMOS and then powering up and I didn't get a display......trying it again but leaving a longer time gap... hoping it willl load the bios at least this time....

:/

worried again now....

Try connecting to the video outputs from the motherboard and see if you get a display then.

You may have to remove your graphics card (I'm assuming you're using one).

did the whole clear cmos thing again and then hooked up DVI-D to the MOBO instead of the GPU and that has not worked............

:/

what now?

is this looking more like a failed component?

shall i try reseating the graphics card?

Right I just tried reseating the graphics card and taking the sticks of ram out..

I put 1 stick of ram in the 4th slot furthest away from the CPU

Yes i did remember to fit the CPU standoffs.

My display now launches however all I have is _ flashing in the top left of the screen ??

Are you able to get into the BIOS?

Just keep bashing the Del key as soon as you switch on.

I think the flashing "_" is because it can't find a boot drive.

If you can get into the BIOS set your HDD as the first boot device.

can't get into the bios ....

smashing del didnt work

not even getting the flashing "_" any more

do you mean swap the optical drive and the HDD?

I meant setting the HDD as the first boot device in the BIOS.

You could try unplugging the DVD from the motherboard and see if it'll boot from the HDD. Try the HDD in different SATA ports, it should be in one of the black ones.

Have you loosened the CPU cooler block a bit like I suggested?

Done all that :( nothing still......

urg so it loaded fine..

I turn it off again

I plug in the Optical cable (left of the Hdd) and it no longer booting picture again....

I will remove the optical driver and see if it boots then trying moving it to the right of the HDD
