Hey all.

Bit of a long shot but does anyone know a cheaper way to get 1A and 3K at butlins skegness for 15th to 19th aug 2016? Sister wants to take her kids on holiday but its like 800 quid. I thought maybe caravan route but im finding it hard to find a caravan thats trustworth and cheap at the same time for those dates.

Any advice or sites to look at?

No its no joke. She wants to take kids somewhere for a holiday, butlins is the only cheap place she knows of that has loads of things to do. Unless u know of somewhere else.

But 800 bucks for 4 nights in Skegness doesn't seem cheap so I'm not following the reasoning unless it has to be Skegness and/or Butlins. There are many places in the UK where you can take kids and have a great time and pay less than that.

I went cheap at butlins for a stag do. Everyone told me it'll be okay.

I slept in my car.

Disgusting

You should all sleep in the car like this upstanding gentleman

Mag, yes 800 for skegness is bloody stupid prices, why do you think im here asking for some way to knock a few hundred off the price eh? Or a viable alternative. Also what car, it would be the coach to get there she doesnt drive.

She needs to rethink the plan! Maybe start with where she lives? How many kids? Age of kids?

Without food I get it at 637 with my discount. With food its 751. Its expensive that week, most likely as diversity are on.

Were going week after, 2A and 1K with food for 518 but that's still very expensive as a few weeks after when schools are back its less than 200 with food

For that kind of money she can probably get few nights stay (a week if private rental) at flamingo land theme park and zoo no shortage of stuff to do. If you book with the site get entrance to theme park and zoo included if you book private need to budget it in. Park is based in Malton north Yorkshire

I paid about that to take my kids to disneyland paris in the school holidays for 4 nights! Much better than Butlins lol

Centre parks?

Did you put that because you think its cheaper than butlins?!!

All school holiday holidays to this kind of place will be that money or more. Cheaper is the likes of Haven or Parkdene but sill not really "cheap"

The sun deals are normally good value, its ether that or camping :o

This .
I actually live around 10mins from Butlins Skegness (Ingoldmells) site and I'd not recommend it as a good place to stay.
There's a sewage treatment plant about a mile East of the camp and as the prevailing winds are from the West mainly in the UK you'll spend the holiday breathing in the smell of ****.
Locals have been complaining to Anglian Water about the pong for years especially in the summer months when with light winds the stench gets very strong.
We stop at Flamingoland regularly, it's cheaper than Butlins and nearer the N.E. for your friend. You can also camp there in your own tent/caravan with full access to the theme park & zoo which is obviously cheaper than using the parks own accommodation.
