Right, got married not too long ago. It's our first Christmas and the missus wants a tree. Never having a tree, have no idea what to do. I've done some research and decided on a 6-ft. artificial tree. The only issue is that I have no idea where to get the best one? Budget isn’t huge, it's around 150 mark. Any ideas? It would be better if it was pre-lit.

Cheers

Tesco sell a decent range of trees. I would say £150 is far too much to spend on something that will only be seen for a couple of weeks. You can pick up a perfectly good tree for £50. Buy some lights and tinsel and you're set.

Get a real one from your local garden centre. Looks better, smells better and all round a million times better. Unless you have a cat. That changes everything.

Another vote for the Rainforrest. Got a pre-lit artificial one with a real wooden trunk from there 10 years ago and it's still in perfect nick. Have changed at least 20 of the filament bulbs over the years.

Spent nearer the top end of your budget, but am struggling to remember the brand.

Cheers for the responses guys. She happy with a fake tree. I've got no pets. With real trees I worried that they will drop needles and look like a zombie tree on Christmas day. Also don't fancy lighting up a tree, it looks like too much bother to do right

I appreciate you worrying for me :p . I just rather not put up the light then take them off. So a reusable artificial tree that has it already set up seems good to me

Buy a pre-lit tree. Make sure the lights are LED. Trying to trace blown bulb in a tree with 150+ lamps is a real chore.

make one yourself ;) I did :)

go to a plantation and tag a real tree, then pick a day and go back and cut it down.
we do it every year with the kids.
as for needles we had hardly any fall off the tree last year.

Just go choose a proper one from a farm. It won't cost anywhere near £150, will look better and smell nicer. You could even plant it in the garden & with a bit of luck, it'll grow over the year and can be re-used.
