Help: Kittens!

Hey guys,

I have an old laptop and webcam which I'm going to use to try and find out where she is getting out from... I'm definitely going to the skip on the weekend but I cant get rid of everything so at least with the cam I can find out where she is getting out from :)

D'awww

They are cute, but I have more than enough moggies. The last cat I got was the result of double-incest (male cat banged his own mother, then knocked up one of the resulting kittens for good measure, resulting in my moglet). She turned out to be somewhat retarded. She's a bit of a handful!

Strangest reply I've read on a forum.

So perverse.

:D

I think I want a little boy cat :D or maybe a little girl cat...I need to think about Snoopy and will she want another female in the house, or would a male be easier for her to bully into submission :p

Any ideas people?

Also, would love the gray kitty but, tbh, an all black cat would be awesome too :D

:p

Not really my fault though... My best mate and his wife got a female cat from a friend, which turned out to be pregnant. She had four kittens - three female and one male. Four months later the male (called "Steve French") had knocked up his Mum and two of his sisters.

The kittens were raised, and they gave most of them away (there were about 15 or so in total), but a few were still around the house into maturity (~3 to 4 months). Three of them got knocked up by dirty old Steve French (who also knocked up his mother again). I offered to take two of the pregnant cats while they had the kittens, as my friends were completely overwhelmed at this point.

I decided to keep one of the kittens that I "raised", and I went for the cutest one (of course). In hindsight I should have realised that she was a bit retarded and gone for a different one. Why are the prettiest ones always the most high-maintenance? :D

Why my friends didn't just get the male spayed after the first round I don't know... Lack of funds and transport combined with procrastination I guess (they were both out of work at the time, and had a one year old kid). Anyway, the moral of the story is that when it comes to reproduction *cats have no morals* :p So get your moggies snipped as soon as possible - they can breed by four months old and are not shy about inter-family relations. They're basically tribbles.

Hey guys,

Went to see them this morning for feed and litter tray clear out.... came into see this:

That's an amazing photo :) All the kittens just lined up behind mum (well three of them anyway).

Does the mother still run away from you when you get close to her? If so you could try a different approach. Walk slowly towards her, getting as close as you think she'll let you. Then, crouch down and hold out your hand for her to smell, palm upwards. The key through all this is not to look her in the eyes - staring at a cat is a sign of aggression and makes them uncomfortable. Better to look away, and / or close your eyes. The "long blink" that cats do when they're content is something that thy can recognise in humans.

Yer Duff-Man I do that and when I first come in and I'm approaching she is hissing at me, but when I sit down she is okay... she does the whole long blink and sometimes falls asleep, but I'm not sure about touching her as when I first come in there is a lot of hissing until I sit down next to them.

The "long blink" iirc means "I am no threat"

I have read it means that they are comfortable in the environment and feel safe. Also been told its a sign of trust - ie that they don't need to constantly watch you/ be on alert when your around

Been told that when they do that they are blowing you a kiss, but that was by a mad cat lady when I was about 6 :p :o :D

You mean it's not true? But but! I thought they were saying they love me? :(
