Help me!! Car decision gets harder - Your thoughts, anybody know of any reviews?

post a decent quality sound file of a couple of red-lines when stationary.

Why? I've never really believed in doing such things to a car as revving an engine so hard when its not underload is not good for them. If I do buy it I will happily do more recording but I don't ideally like revving past 4000rpm on a car when its stationary. :)

/activates juvenile mode.

because V8's sound sooooo goood.
/end

i don't think revving is so bad, after all many engines are bench run-in without a load.

OK guess that makes sense.

Well not 100% decided if I want this yet, but am about 80% there just gotta look into insurance tomorrow as that could be the killer.

I've just priced up a car on www.saleen.com with the same specification and it comes to $47,000 which is 27k and then to brink that to UK shipping is approx £1500, VAT is 5k as I am assuming VAT has to be paid and the SVA and all other rubbish probably cost a few thousand. So as I am buying this car for less than 27k it seems a good buy as the seller is already making a big loss to move it on fast.

correct me if im wrong but from a non-EU country we're talking:-
purchase price+shipping+import duty THEN VAT on the final figure.

plus smaller charges, release from port/registration etc etc

none at the moment as its off the road. however adrian flux, sureterm, ensign insurance, MCE, R.H who have a full page advert in C.A every month, All have been sugested on the Mopar forum, Not sure what some off the abrevations are but im sure google will reveal them.

As much as I love the 911's, American cars have always been dream cars in my eyes, and you won't get much better than that for the price. Ohh the sound of these cars is enough to make me want to buy one, the looks just confirm it all.

p.s.
£9500 for the 3000GT :p Cash waiting

With american cars, always phone up, no point doing online quotes.
Also with american cars(well probably all imports) its best to find a club and join up they'll usually have some insurance company offer.

forums:
http://www.aacint.com/forum/default.asp (never used it)
http://uk.search.yahoo.com/search?f...8859-1&p=american+car+clubs&meta=vc=countryUK

I use http://www.mopartalk.co.uk/connected/index.php but its for dodge, chrysler and plympouth, so probably not usefull, mainly classics as well.

Hope that helps.

You could get it converted to LPG and save yourself a bundle on petrol, a modern injection system would maintain performance. Since you allready mentioned the bhp going up because of higher octane, it might benefit even more. LPG is also far less corrosive then petrol.

You must live in the shetland islands then

The insurance company did say there are only 3 low risk places left in the UK and my post-code is one of them. :D

I was amazed by the quote and the company was really good as they knew exactly what a Saleen S281 was and gave me 10% instant discount for been registed on the Mustang forums.

The next cheapest was A-Plan at approx £680.

Yes this is a left hand drive brand new Saleen Mustang with a $47,000 value or £30,000 in UK money. :)
