Help me do some maths!

Ok Help me OCUK!

I need to do some maths questions and was wondering if you lot can help me please! I need to show my working as well.

1. Paul has 35 CD's, but 14 of them have damaged cases, what percentage of his CD's are damaged?

2. The diagonal of a square is 20 cm long, find the area of the square.

3. What would be the co-ordinates for the graph y=3x -1

4. For each of these sequences find an expression for the nth term

4,9,16,25

3, 3 1/4 3 1/2, 3 3/4

5. A line with the equation y=mx + c goes through the points (0,4) and (2,14) find m and c.

or 200 to be more precise

1. 5 cds with 14 damaged cases?

That'd be 0%, the cd's aren't damaged, only the cases.

5. c = 4.

Can't be arsed to work out the rest

14/35 x 100 = 40%

edit: unless its a trick question, non of the CDs are damaged just the cases?

No I just need like the first 5 points so I can plot the line. I have the graph here I need to plot the co-ordinates on it.

1. Trick question. Just because the cases are damaged, doesn't mean the CDs themselves are.

2. 2x^2 = 400 => x^2 = 200, so the area is 200

3. Doesn't make sense.

4. (n+1)^2, 3+(n-1)/4

5. m = 5, c = 4

If x = 1, y = 2
If x = 2, y = 5
If x = 3, y = 8

You can draw the graph from that.

Btw I have no idea if that answers your question I am simply guessing

For q4, have you missed a 1 at the start? that looks like n^2 to me

2. (20/2 x 10) x 2 = 200 (working on half base x height)
