help me on a rover 25 model.....

Sounds like the dealer is bending your over the table and letting you take one for the team. Walk away from it, even if you lose your deposit you will still get a better deal elsewhere.

Never tell a dealer your budget, never even let them know you really like the car. If they think your more than happy to walk away from a deal they will always try to better it to get your money.

Dont buy a warrenty either, it should come with a 3 month RAC warrenty free of charge, if it doesnt ask him why and remind him everywhere else is doing a free warrenty with the car. Then shop around for one, its just like anything else you part money for - some deals are better than others :)

If he;s telling you what your budget is then there;s a good chance he;s taking you for a ride. Add up your deposit, the price of the car, the amount of interest your paying and the warrenty than ask yourself is that car worth that amount of money? it deffo wont be.

Got to say though, thats a really boring car. My wife has an MG ZR and despite what people say its the same car with a naff body kit :p and i yawn everytime i get behind the wheel of it :p the car was designed many many years ago with very little in the way of changes right up till the day rover went bust. thats why they are so cheap - for similar money you can get a lot more car imo.

I own a Rover 200 Mk3 and a Mondeo Ghia X Mk2.

Both cost me under £1k, infact combined they cost me initially under £1k!

Completely different cars but for day-to-day use to get from A to B then I would choose the Mondeo every single time.
