Help me pick a charity

I donate to:
- Concern Worldwide
- WaterAid
- Cats Protection
- Cool Earth
- SOS Children's Villages
- Friends of the Earth
- Celia Hammond Animal Trust
- Actors Benevolent Fund
- The Theatrical Guild

As far as I know, they all do reasonable things.

Here is a small charity were every penny is appreciated.

I get into a right moral panic every time I go to Tesco.

There is a little booth where you pick a token and place it in a container that corresponds with one of 3 charities. The inference is that this will determine where money goes (although I haven’t spent long reading the notices and I don’t think it’s a wise time to fact check this via the wife :o).

The current options are something like:

- support for dementia care
- food for the homeless
- helping disabled children

… and I’m like, how am I supposed to choose?!

I tend to donate to the following if I can;

Special Effect (A gaming charity putting fun and inclusion back into the lives of physically disabled people across the world.) specialeffect.org.uk
LeukaemiaUK (Father in law died from an undiagnosed case of this a few years ago)
LupusUK (My daughter was diagnosed with this chronic autoimmune disease when she was younger)

I try to aim locally where possible for other causes as I never agree to CEO's being paid a **** tonne of money, when other people are doing work for free. It's a charity after all!

Nice to see people donating to charity. The local hospice that I mentioned only has three members of staff earning between £70k-£100k out of a total of 89 workers. They do plenty of fundraising in the local area. I found some interesting information via the charity commission website!
