i have just rebuilt my system and windows has gone skits, when i booted with all my drives like normal after a fresh format, it has deleted over 200gb of very important information.

I need my college assignments for my degree and these were deleted to.

Please help me,

The windows log says mfts error ???

Need a bit more information really.

Is the drive in question purely a storage drive, or does it hold the operating system as well?

Where does the NTFS error come up, any error codes along with it?

Craig.

Google "Recover Master File Table". You'll get plenty of useful links to recovery software.

The MFT is where Windows lists the directories of every single folder and file on your HDD's.

Best use that fast, dont remove or add any files to PC and dont run any chkdsk or reboot.

Do not even install that software onto your borked drive, that would also count as adding files to your PC (just saying in case it's not obvious.)

You should really get another totally seperate drive to work from/with, install onto that, and then recover your original disk. Otherwise you stand the risk of overwriting files you want to keep with the recovery software!
