Help me with my lost overclock please :)

I have just ran prime 95 for 2 minutes and I stopped it as all my cores were at 93-95 degrees. In cpu z I saw the core voltage hit 1.296v. Does this help?

Edit - I've just put everything back to stock to see what the temperatures are like on prime and I'm seeing 75-80 degrees across the cores. Are these too high? My cooler is a Titan fenrir big tower thing and a fan on the side of it. It's quite dusty so maybe it needs a good clean?

Ive just opened the case and cleaned everything. Every fan was just caked in dust, the cpu cooler was the worst. No wonder my temperatures were so high, it couldnt breathe! The temps at idle now are in the high 30s at stock. Before it was in the 50s!

Now back at 4 ghz running prime 95 for the past 30 minutes and the temps are in high 70s low 80s. Cpu z shows my core voltage at 1.248 and sometimes 1.264 v

voltages are fine and so are temps at 70-80c

was gonna say they were hot before but glad you got them lower

are you running with power saving on or off?

You need to try and get to 1.3v in the ocuk settings so maybe try with +0.0950v

And then enable c3 again and see what the CPU voltage is when stressing, you want it around 1.26v when 100% load

Oh. Isn't it good that the voltage is low? I always thought it was too high a voltage and heat was what caused bad things to happen. It everything is stable with a lower voltage why change it :p. I know I'll be wrong with my reasoning but Im just confused haha

It wasn't stable with power saving enabled though was it?

If it was then re enable c3 and leave voltages as they are

Just c3,the extra voltage shouldn't hurt as it only gets applied when CPU is stressed

But load up cpu-z and stress with prime95,then look to see what the CPU voltage is in cpu-z and tell me

Make sure the CPU down clocks at idle aswell

Ok I have put eist to enabled as auto wouldn't downclock. C3 is enabled too. Dvid is at +0.0950 v and all seems well. Prime 95 hasn't crashed after 15 minutes, the temps are a little higher. I've hit 86 and 87 on 2 cores but this could be because of the heating being turned on higher than it was the other day.

Cpu z shows my core voltage at 1.280v and occasionally 1.296v. As long as my games don't crash then we have finished tackling this overclocking process :D:cool:

OK looks good, you can now try lowering dvid a little at a time?

Try around +0.0925v or near enough,if stable try +0.0900v,and then try +0.08800v

Test with gaming aswell

its been ages since I had my ud5 so im a bit rusty,it up to yourself if you wanna try lowering it a little

Yeah I will see how low I can get it tomorrow. I've just been on Battlefield for a few hours and everything has been perfect. I cannot thank you enough

Edit. I jinxed myself haha, soon after this post I got a bsod saying "whea uncontrollable error". This was after having the pc on for 6 or more hours. Anything to worry about?
