I don't think so, I have tried the hard drive in every single port and the problem has persisted. I have also tried the CD drive in every port and it has been fine.
I'll send it back. If they find no fault then OC can help me fix my problem and I know it's not the hard drive that's at fault; if they do find an issue then I get a shiny new hard drive.
I deconstructed my now broken laptop and used the 160GB Hard drive from that, and it was detected by the BIOS fine. Definitely seems to have been a hard drive issue, which was received today by OCUK to test.
Exploratory question - If I were to load windows onto my hard drive using its code, how would I then delete it from the 160GB and load it onto my new hard drive when it gets back to me?
I have no idea how long RMA takes so I am trying to find a workaround
