I've plugged in the network adapter from the Mac into my PC and it says 'Limited or no connectivity'

How can i access the college system on my laptop, do i need to install some network drivers?

Tutor doesn't know how to do it so :/

DHCP server might only be assigning IPs to known MAC addresses. If that's the case you need the college network admin to assist.

As Adz says. That message means your PC isnt getting an ip address.

Open up the run prompt, type CMD and enter, then type ipconfig /all and see if you are getting an IP address, DNS server and Gateway. If you see something like 169.*.*.* then :(

First thing I'd do is make sure you're actually allowed to plug your own device into the network, otherwise you may have a couple of techs giving you an earful in a few minutes...

THE TECHIES ARE COMING!
:D
As has been said, they probably only assign IPs for known MACs
