OK NEED HELP HERE I HAVE GOT A ZOTAC 275GTX 896MB CARD AND I HAVE GOT JUST OVER £300 TO SPEND ON A NEW CARD DO I GO ATI OR NVIDIA.
WOULD ATI 5870 GIVE ME BETTER PERFOMANCE THAN THE CARD I GOT NOW
OR WOULD I GO TO A NVIDIA 295.
IF ANY ONE GOT ANY COMMENTS IT WOULD BE GRATEFULL:confused::confused:

Might be worth also spending a few bob on a keyboard it appears to be stuck on all caps.

There are many benchmarks for the 5870 if you Google. You will get comparisions with other cards too.

new nvidia cards i belive are released next month or month after. wait until then and then compare nvidia and ati. Get whatever is best price for performance.

Or indeed, in 3 months time. And even then they will be in small numbers like all new releases. I wouldn't count on general availability until the end of May at the earliest.

A 5870 would give better performance but probably not enough to warrant £300+

Hold onto your cash, the 275 should still be eating games for breakfast :)

chilldog, chill on the caps dog.

See what i did there? Thanks guys i'll be here all week for entertainment purposes.

Had you said, and only said "Chill on the caps, dawg" it would have been funny.

However, you've ruined what could have been a good joke.

You should be ashamed of yourself and request a banning to set things straight.

Insanties birth - "5870 - good price slight lower performance than 295"

If you must have a new GFX card go 5870 -

Read this review for the 5870(single GPU 1024MB) it includes a graph showing where the 5870 stands on each test, it includes the the Nvidia GTX 295(two GPU'S 1792MB) wins 8 tests, 5870 wins 5 tests. It just shows you how good the 5870 is and if you go xfire also look at the results for the GTX285 SLi it beats the 5870 only twice and the 295 has not got alook in 0 wins.

I have just got a couple 5870's in crossfire and using a GTX280 for Physx, in place of 3xGTX280 in tri Sli.

WOW  what a difference, don't know if something was wrong with the 280's but now getting considerably higher frame rates in everything.

1st time i've used an ATI card in my main rig, and I think i'm converted.

Is this overkill? YOU BET and i'm loving it. :)

Go with the 5870.

Well it's a good card then and got very good value, I think I'd recommend it to him if he wanted to go for a new card I guess. Better than going for a 295 value wise and it could be xfired later so it seems like a great card overall.
